Young Thinkers

This book club for teens, college students, and young professionals turns a critical eye towards literature in a completely casual, open environment free of scholastic pressures. Emphasis will be placed on exploring issues of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, sizeism, the stigmatization of handicaps and mental illness, bullying, religious intolerance and other major problems plaguing our society. Every work contains valuable lessons - even if it's just "what NOT to do." In addition, we will also be participating in community service projects promoting reading and literacy here and abroad. Feel free to e-mail me at meredith.nudo@gmail.com or post here if you have any questions at all! Special thanks to Connie and Eric at the HGBC and Connie at Te House of Tea for allowing us the opportunity to organize an event for the literary community! Please note that Te House of Tea will add a small gratuity to checks if our party exceeds 8 people. This amazing local business supports us; we should show them the same courtesy in kind.
